The National Radial Engine Exhibition is a static display of radial engine aircraft from the 1920's to the 1950's. The Seventh Annual NREE features a 5K Fun Run and Walk to open the day, a muscle, antique and classic car show, a classic motorcycle show, radio controlled airplane exhibitions, model rocket displays by the Northern Colorado Rocket Club, a booth from NASA honoring 50 years of the U.S. space program, breathtaking aerobatics demonstrations, a heartpounding World War II reenactment, and of course some of the era’s most impressive airplanes!

A realistic World War II battle reenactment closes out the NREE. Reenactors from the 6th Division (1940-1941) headquartered in Cheyenne, Wyoming take the crowd back to a 1940’s European battlefield, complete with pyrotechnic aerial strafings, mortar attacks, hand to hand combat, and authentic World War II vehicles.

Angel Light Pyrotechnics of Pierce, Colorado, working with the reenactors, takes great pains to create as authentic an experience as possible. Fires rage and explosions reverberate as the scene plays itself out, and visitors to the NREE are left in awe as the action unfolds.
